HBinFive Bread Braid

It is time to join the HBinFive Bread Braid.  Our assignment was to bake a loaf of Milk and Honey Raisin Bread and Cinnamon Crescent Rolls.  I really wanted to make the Cinnamon Crescent Rolls with the Chocolate Expresso Whole Wheat recipe but I need to make the breads I know that hubs will eat.  I forgot to only make 1/2 recipe of the Milk and Honey Raisin Bread dough so I had to just use that one up.  I'll try the Chocolate Expresso another time.  Since it is just hubs and myself I have to limit the amount of breads I am making.  This has been the best result I have had since joining the group.  Here is the loaf of bread I made.
I think if I make this dough again I would add more raisins to it.  I also associate cinnamon with raisin bread so I used the rest of the dough up to make muffins and sprinkled cinnamon and sugar on top.  We visited my youngest daughter today to help with a couple of things at her house, so I was able to drop half of the muffins off to her.  My daughter and I both thought they were quite a bit like a bagel in taste and texture made this way.
If you would like to see all the scrumptious ways everyone from the group made their bread go over to
Big Black Dog and check out the groups links.
Oh, I suppose you want to see day 5 pictures of chicks........Ok, ok you have twisted my arm.

And this last photo is Esther.  I have only named her so far.  She stands out in the crowd so I was able to pick a name for her.  What can I say, I am crazy in love with these chicks!  Have a great day and thanks for coming by because I also love all of you!

I agree with you on the raisin amount. I doubled mine and they were still a bit sparse. Love the pictures of your chicks. Wish I had my own but I live only part time in the country. I'm lucky in that one of my knitting friends friend supplies me with fresh eggs that I buy from her each week. Love your blog.

Your bread looks great. I also felt it needed double the raisins and some cinnamon or other spice but was pleased with it just the same.

We had a chook (chicken) farm when I was a child and I enjoyed seeing your baby chicken photos.

I can't believe how big they have already gotten! So glad they are doing so well! You seem to be so comfortable taking care of them... I think I would be so nervous! Your bread looks fantastic, I would add more raisins as well and some cinamon! Hope you had a great Saturday, will e-mail you later!

Your chicks are so cute! I wish I had some as pets.

The milk and honey was my favorite as well. The raisins look super plump!

WOW...great rise on your Milk and Honey Loaf. It's huge and looks so pretty. My breads always seem to rise much better in the spring and early summer.

The baby chicks are adorable!

I didn't make the crescent rolls for the same reason. My hubby is a bit picky, but I figured he would like the raisin bread. Yours looks beautiful. Great job!

Homemade bread is the best...and with raisins and cinnimon...even better. Love your babies...as you know I too love chicks...they're so addicting.

That bread looks really good! I can't even successfully make bread in my bread maker! :) Well done Brenda.

And your chicks continue to make me smile. And I LOVE the name Esther. I had a woman at church named Esther who let me pretend she was my grandmother. Very sweet woman. Your little chick named Esther just made me smile thinking about her. :)
