We had our big family Christmas gathering here yesterday and I have to leave for work shortly, so I only have a few minutes to get my vintage picture posted. I bought this Santa cake mold at an antique shop that is in a small town near by. I have not tried baking in him yet although that was what I had planed on doing when I brought it a couple of years ago. He is two pieces and I expect you bake him face down because his back side has an air hole in it. I have baked cakes similar to this when my girls were growing up but they clipped together and had a stand you sat them in to fill from the bottom. If anyone knows exactly how I would use this I would be glad for the information.
The last couple of weeks have been busy. I expect to have some new posts this week of a grandsons birthday, a Christmas party at Meijers Gardens and our Christmas gathering. That should make a great cake! I have a lamb mold that didn't have clips and did just as you thought, put the batter in one side and left the air hole up when in the oven and it worked just fine. I'd love to see the finished cake! Judi
I will probably try it next year since we already had all the grandchildren here this year for our gathering. Jeff is not a big cake eater and I do not need to eat a whole cake myself. Thanks for the info Judi and since I know now that is how to make it I'll post my results next year.

I have a Christmas tree pan that looks similar to this one. I can be quite lazy when it comes to cooking, so I just fill mine up with rice krispie and marshmallow mix, and then when it hardens, I take it out and decorate it with sprinkles and candy ornaments.
