Holiday Cloche Party

I tried to get my jar ready for the Cloche party last night but the glitter just was not dry enough to finish up. Hubby took me out for dinner tonight and we went to pick up our oldest grandson after that so I am just now able to get my pictures downloaded and add to my post. You can see all the other beautiful Cloches at http://astrollthrulife.blogspot.com/2009/12/holiday-cloche-party.html

I had this jar all set with the snow and the red and white tree that I have had for a couple of years and just did not know what to do with it. I had saw these little cardboard houses and churches at Michaels (they come with a string to hang them) and thought I could paint them and add to the jar. I then saw someone else, sorry I forget whose wonderful blog, had already done this and added glitter. So that is what I did. I tried to bleach the green trees but it did not work. It only lightened the color. So I added glitter to those also.

Here is a close up of the house you probably cannot see that I used a crackle medium the roof looks really neat.

I have had these birds under glass for a while so I placed them in with some Christmas decor so they would fit into the holiday theme. I usually have framed pictures sitting on top of most everything so I decorate around them. I think I still need something to pull this together just not sure what.

This is what our back woods looked like this morning. Our first real snow fall. Everyone asked me if I ordered it for my birthday. Wouldn't be wonderful if we could keep this under all our glass with all our villages.

Hope you enjoy checking out everyone else pretties and get some wonderful ideas for you Christmas decor at A Stroll Thru Life with Marty.
Thanks for stopping!

Your wonderful little house and trees is just beautiful I love how you painted it and added all the snow. Looks just like outside your house. Your birds are beautiful in your cloche. I love that you have a lot of pictures out. That always makes me feel right at home. Thanks so much for joining the party, this is so much fun. Hugs, Marty

Your woods look so pretty!

Your little house and trees are so pretty in the jar - a winter scene! You have to be careful with the trees - they don't all bleach. I learned the hard way last year - I think I had one in bleach for a whole day and it didn't even lighten. It's only the package of 21 trees for some reason. The others seem to be made of plastic and bleach won't work on those.

Belated Happy Birthday, Brenda!! Love your little house, it's darling, and I think the tree looks great. It looks really old! And that snowfall is just stunning, thanks for sharing the photo. We've only had about 5 flakes, but it's been plenty cold!
hugs and blessings!

You are so sweet! I cannot wait to put them on my tree but no worries, I will put my tree up this weekend so don't make a special trip to mail them! I hope you have a great Sunday! TOday is my daughter's 28th birthday and we are having a wine and chocolate tasting at her house so that is probably what I will blog about unless I get a little tipsy!
