Eggs

The feathered ladies have been giving us eight eggs a day this past week. There are twelve of the ladies so four of them need to pick up the pace. We give eggs to our daughters, hubs brother, sister and parents and also to a neighbor that takes care of them if we go away. Everyone smiles when they see these eggs in the cartons.

I would be smiling too - those eggs are delightful!! I used to get eggs from a gentleman down the road, but when he turned 90 he decided that the chickens were too much for him. LOL!!

Have a great evening,
Lynn

Brown eggs are my favorite. I don't know if there's actually any difference, but my brain says there is. La

Beautiful eggs!

I so want to have chickens, but the coyotes here get them all the time. I'll just enjoy your pictures. :-)

So glad to see your post on EGGS! I have raised chickens and would still if I didn't live in town. Gosh, it's fun to gather eggs and feed the chickens. Your chickie gals are sure productive and pretty, too!

I loved this post. It brought back many happy memories of when we had our chickens. We loved them so much they were a real part of our family. It has been a LONG time since we gave it all up, but seeing entries like thid make me want to start all over. Great entry for E.

I have an affinity for fresh eggs. They are always so beautiful! Grocery store eggs are so non-descript! Fresh eggs are THE BEST!

What fun. I would have chickens if I didn't have kids. Or a dog. What fun! Easter everyday!

How delightful!!! I love colored eggs, especially the green and blue ones. If they didn't go bad eventually, I'd just leave them out all the time!!!

How lucky you are to have chickens. I travel 50 minutes to buy my eggs from a couple in NH. In spring I hope to have a coop with six hens.

White eggs! I miss white eggs because all of the eggs in our grocery store here are brown.

Well done, chickies.

Home grown eggs are sooooo much better than the ones in the store. Your chickens are pretty stinking cute too!

Those are some nice-looking hens!

I would love to be the recipient of free eggs. We go through about four dozen a month, sometimes more. What keeps the other hens from laying as they should?

The colors in those eggs are soooo lovely. I bet the lucky recipients totally love you. There is nothing like a fresh, fried egg...or an angel food cake made with fresh egg whites.

Thanks for the lovely stop on our little journey through Alphabe-Thursday's letter "E".

I always enjoy stopping here.

I love fresh eggs. My folks use to drive 50 miles one way to purchase fresh eggs from a friend we affectionately called "The Egg Lady". I sure miss those days. Anne

ooo, fresh eggs! I love fresh eggs from the farm. Maybe it's just me but they taste much better than ones from the market. We know someone who owns a chicken farm outside of Tokyo and it was quite a treat to go out there and visit them :)

I am so jealous of your chickens! Well, not jealous of them, jealous of you because you have healthy eggs on hand.

My son had 4 chickens, but one night something killed them, took their heads right off...eek!

Even though I live in the big city, we have The Egg Lady and can buy fresh-layed eggs (as long as you don't mind paying $4 a dozen). I love that they're funny shapes and varied colors.

And thanks for visiting my blog (:

Our girls have really been slacking lately! There were two eggs from six hens today, and not one hen is an old gal. It may have something to do with our getting rid of the rooster - I think the girls felt safe when he was around.
