HBinFive Bread Braid

I am late linking up to the bread braid this time around.  Not only am I late but I did not bake even one of the recipe's that was due this time around.  I did mix up the full Master Recipe though and made the very first recipe listed in the book.
This was the best loaf I have made yet.  Look it actually has some nice holes in it.  Not sure the correct term I should use but so far all the breads I have made have been really dense and heavy.  And I am so glad it turned out so well because I needed bread for dipping in infused oils.  I had a house full of friends and family over this past Saturday for a Wildtree home party.  If you have not heard of this company they sell wonderful Grapeseed Oils and natural herbs and foods.  You can see the products here: www.wildtree.com.
The bread was a hit when we were testing the different oils.  I still have plenty of the dough left and will still make one of the the items on our list sometime over the next couple of days.  But for now stop over at the Big Black Dog site and check out what everyone else has been baking!

Have a great evening and thanks for stopping in!

I'm so happy for you- big holes and everything! (thats what they call crumb, right?) Anyway, your bread looks terrific. I've finally managed to get mine to raise decently but, so far, no big holes. Hope springs eternal.. LOL

The bread has very nice crust and crumb. Looks simply rustic, healthy and very artisan!

Congratulation, it seems you have gotten the hang of it. Practice makes perfect they say just imagine what kind of crumb you will get when we are done with the book. You will be an HBin5 expert!

I love home made bread, but hardly ever make it anymore. I used to and it is so yummy. I even bought a brand new bread machine at a garage sale a couple of years ago and have never even taken it out of the box! Hmmm, wonder if I should get it out.....

PS - I tagged you in a photo challenge. Check it out on my blog when you have time.

sooo yummy. If I had time I would make the world. I unfortunately am not infinitely powerful, so am limited to the twenty four hour day and a chunk of that goes to sleep and personal, I do not want to stink or die of hunger, care. I will however sometime have to try making real homemade bread. You seem to have it down well. I will have to say, finding a way to transmit smell through the computer would be great.

I'm trying not to look at this bread...I don't think I have enough WW points to have any of it:( Hop over and read my new post...you will see why I'm telling you about it, and thanks so much for this awesome idea!

Blessings,
Linda
