Alphabe-Thursday

M is for Menu
Since it is just the hubs and I left at home now I do not cook very large dinners anymore.  Quite often it is a one pan meal such as soup or a casserole.  Hubs is a good cook and often takes a turn but he likes to experiment with whatever he can find leftover in the fridge and he is good at it also.  I enjoy cooking but I follow recipes.  Last night it was my turn to cook and since I am going to be gone this evening I decided I needed to make it a good meal. The main dish I found over at Big Black Dog.  Michele always has such wonderful recipes at her site.  Go  here to get her recipe for Pasta with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream.  It was wonderful and this is what my attempt looked like.

I recently have found this salad that Meijers has made up in their produce section.  It has three different kinds of berries and number of different greens and some pecans.  For the price, it is perfect for us because we each get a serving with our meal and there is enough left for me to take for lunch.  If I bought each of the things in it we would not get it all ate before it would spoil.

It has been a busy week with a grandson getting his tonsils out and I have been going to Physical Therapy three times a week.  And to top it off our internet provider was down for close to 48 hours and popping in and out all week.  I had a lot of posts I wanted to share this week so hopefully I'll be back soon!  Check out the other participants over at Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday and enjoy the rest of your week!  Thanks for coming by!

So glad you were able to get our post done...hate it when my computer is not available! Love M is for Menu and that dish looks yummy. I don't cool much these days but should start I guess. I also find premade salad works, does not go to waste.

I know what you mean about the cooking. Even though Ben is still at home, he works at least 4 nights a week. It is hard for me to down size my recipes so we have lots of leftovers. your dinner looks yummy, I agree Michelle has some good looking food on her blog! Are you still making her bread? Hope your PT is going well, my knee gets better everyday! Go to the Dr. tomorrow so I will see what he thinks. Have a great weekend my friend!

Great choice for M. Our DD is back in the nest while she student teaches, but I know just what you mean about not cooking big meals when it's just the two. The prepared salads are great. We love fresh salads, but too often the ingredients go to waste before we can use them all. Glad you got your internet problems fixed, that is SO frustrating. Kathy

My hubs is the chef here at HFTS. I occasionally cook something but he is the one we depend on. LOL I do help clean up, and I do the table setting.

This looks really wonderful. I would love to eat this meal. I'm going to go check out the recipe. My husband is also the adventurous cooker in our house and I'm the recipe girl. I think I must have missed or forgotten something. What are you doing your PT for? Hope it's helping.

Yum, it looks delicious! That's a great tip about the prepared salad. My hubby and I are brand new empty nesters and we are running into the same problem of salad ingredients going bad before we can get it all eaten.

Brenda, I tried to post a comment yesterday, but it never has appeared. I guess my internet is quirky. Anyway, all I wanted to say was that this looked like a wonderful meal. I would love to partake of it. :) I already went and looked up the recipe. (Oh, I also said my husband was the adventurous one too and I was the recipe girl.)

That salad sounds delish! I LOVE pecans or any kind of nuts in my salad. Chili's makes a Mexican salad with black beans and cilantro that is to die for!
