A is for Ann
Ann...
Patricia Ann - My mother
Peggy Ann - My little sister
Samantha Ann - My Daughter
Natalie Ann - My Grand Daughter
Ann was the first thing that popped into my mind for the letter A. There are a few in my family with the middle name of Ann. Lovely ladies and a young girl. I think I have always been envious of my sister's middle name. So much so I picked it for my middle daughter's middle name and talked my younger daughter into using it also for her daughter. I think it is such a pretty name. It sounds dainty to me. But a middle name needs to work with the first name and Ann just does not sound correct after Brenda. Brenda Ann. Nope. My middle name is Ray. Brenda Ray. I have to admit it works. My Dad's name is Raymond. I believe the story goes he wanted a boy pretty bad that first baby. I always wondered why I did not get the Rae spelling like the other girls I ran into while growing up. But now I am very proud to have the middle name that is so close to my fathers first name. We certainly see things differently when we mature don't we? Ann, still love the name and hopefully I will have a great granddaughter years from now that I can push it off on yet again.

Hi Brenda, I needed to check in on you, I apologize for being a slacker on getting over here. Hope you're doing OK. I love this weekly post on the alphabet, I need to go check it out! Ann is my middle name, as well as my mom's. They do tend to run in family's! Have a wonderful weekend.
hugs and blessings,
Debra
Ann is a beautiful name! I have known many ladies with this name, and my baptismal name is Anna..
That's a very nice tradition to have with the name Ann. I hope it continues throughout history.
Ann is one of my favorite names too. It was my beloved grandmother's name, it is my middle name and the middle name of several cousins and aunts. And I love the story of your middle name - how special! Kathy
I love the name Ann (only spelled Anne) and thought of using it for a middle name of one of my daughter's but didn't. Thanks for your visit to my blog! I think this party will be lots of fun!
Ann is my middle name too :) .
It is, indeed, a lovely name and I hope it continues to be used in your family for generations to come!
I always wanted a pretty middle name as well, My mom had 5 kids and we all are K's...Kathy, Kerry, Kevin, Karla, and Kelley. Everyone had an unusual name except me! When I went to college there were 4 kathy's on my floor alone! If I had been a Katherine, I could have been called Katy, which I really like. And now for the kicker...my middle name is jean and since I live in the south, I am Kathy Jean....oh, brother!!!!
I love the name Ann-- it is my mother-in-law's middle name, and the name of several dear friends. Family names are really special-- they have so much meaning.
It's funny how one name can stick in a family for generations! Ann is my middle name and my oldest daughters middle name. Although when I was a kid I envied my sister's middle name. CECILIA it sounded so romantic. Not just plain like ANN. But know I realize that ANN is perfect for plain ole me!
Judy
thanks for all the lovely comments Brenda! You're so good at commenting on my blog and I seem to fail miserably!!!!
I'm sending in my A for Ashleigh, my daughter!! Used to babysit a little girl with that name and spelling and always wanted to name my daughter that!!!!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
And don't give up on the play list...my son figured out how to put it on mine!!
I have always loved the name ... with me being a "joanne" it's always been a part of me :)
That is so sweet that everyone has the same middle name. My Mom is Anne and my little sister's middle name is Annette.
I love this post! And I love that you all have the same middle name. My Mom's name is Rose and my middle name is Rose and my oldest daughters middle name is Rose. She will continue the tradition if she is blessed with getting pregnant. Thanks for linking. I am loving the diverse stories....A+
PS I love that adorable picture of your dog at right. Seriously adorable.
What a sweet post! Love the name Ann. My post is about my new grand niece named Annabelle.
