Crochet, reading and just too many projects in progress.

Hi everyone! I thought I would show you another project I have started. I started working on a Crochet along from the Lion Brand Notebook. As normal I am behind with this. I have 5 blocks done and the instructor has all hers done and put together. Here are the pictures of what I have done and where it is when I am not working on it.

As you can see I am using my new sewing basket to stash my yarn away from Ladybug. I got the yarn on sale from Herrschners. I have found that if I shop on line I get things started a lot quicker than driving an hour away to get yarn and still not find the colors I am wanting. This is a wool blend that normally runs 5.50 a ball and I got it for 1.99. It is very soft and I am using Pale Sage, Light Lavender, Lavender and Deep Purple. I am making this for the bedroom that my computer is in and where my grandchildren sleep when they visit. I am hoping this will give me the push I need to go buy paint for the walls and paint the headboards I have for that room. I just have too many projects going at once and I need to force myself to finish some before taking on any others. I actually am very irritated with myself on this very bad habit. How do all of you who enjoy doing a lot of different things keep yourselves on task? I make lists. But they are for those everyday things that I just have to do. And how many of you out there have multiple books that you are reading. I do not usually do that but I have four going right now. I am listening to Love Mercy by Earlene Fowler in my car, I really am liking this one. I am listening to Cream Puff Murder by Joanne Fluke in my work area. I am also reading Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice along with Kitty Scraps but I expect she has finished by this time. This is included in a book of seven of her novels and is really heavy so I usually just read it at the table for half hour or so at a time. And on the light side I have been reading Debbie Macomber's Between Friends. This one I started a couple of years ago and it got packed when we were moving and I just found it again. It is a different kind of book as it is letters and journal entries written by lifelong friends. I really started to like it after the third or forth chapter. My husband and I are quite different in our reading choices but the one thing we have in common is that after starting a book we have to finish it. In my case I always think, maybe this is one of those books that is a slow start and I need to give it a chance. I am liking all of these books and would recommend them all. Thank you all for listening to my ramblings. I hope you are having a good weekend and blessing to all of you that have stopped in for a visit.

Hi Brenda!

Looks like you are stil busy! I have the same problem that you do. So many things I want to start, but don't always want to finish. I also feel guilty when I work on something I want to do, but my house needs cleaning. I feel like I need to get the necessary stuff done, before I can do the fun stuff.
I also make lists...sometimes after I've done things just so that I can actually cross something off!!
I was reading 2 books.. . New one by Lauraine Snelling, Measure of Mercy and an old one by Jane Kirkpatrik, All Together in One Place. Love Debbie too, but leave the Jane Austin to my daughter. P and P is her all time favorite book. Give me the movie!!!
Spent the day canning chicken and chicken stock. Makes the house smell so good on this rainy day!
Take care! Holy

I have the same problem - several projects going at once and at least 4 books!! Life is too short.

Hi, I love the crochet block. I had to take a hiatus from knitting and crochet because of my elbow injury. I miss it right now.

I also have many projects going, that is part of the reason I started to blog. I keep track of things with the lists. I try to not have too many things going at once but.... then all of the UFO's get to me and I have to finish!!

BTW, I live in Gaylord. I love small town life but we go "downstate" periodically for events, family, shopping.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

I have to get over to the library and check out some books on cd. I used to really enjoy listening to them when I was commuting to work. I could listen to them in my sewing room.

I would be more than willing to share the paint color if I knew what it was! I bought it as a mis-tint, so I don't know what the color actually is. It was from Lowe's and it's just an indoor water-based flat paint, but with the stain and varnish it really looks beautiful. If you live anywhere near Eagle Mountain, Ut. I'd be happy to let you use some of mine:)

I also have the problem of lots of projects but now I will NOT let myself start anything until I have finished what I am working on. Now the problem is that I will not start any projects at all! So maybe it it better to have several going at one time, maybe you can do one each night, maybe if you have sewing on Monday, etc. and know that you are only doing what you have designated to do on that specific night. I would leave one night for your choice. I guess my favorite thing to do right now is take pictures and blog and cook. SO consider that fact that you are probably getting more done in a week than most people I know! Be proud of what you have done!

There is something always to be done. Such is life. Be easy on yourself. I just pulled out all my books and arranged them on the bookshelf. I don't read during the summer, but am ready to start with the cooler weather here.

Very nice colors and I love the block! Jane Austen is a favorite of mine as well. One summer I read every one of her books.

If you like to sew bags, I'm having a giveaway right now on my Nov 6th post for a fun and easy pattern, so come on over and leave a comment.
