First off, I want to wish you all a very happy Valentines Day!
Next, I want to share the aprons that I finished this week for my daughter and grand-daughters. I had this fabric cut out months ago, I mean it was getting close to a year ago. I am so glad that the aprons still fit my growing grand-daughters!
This is my youngest daughter, the homeschooling mama and her daughters. There is a little boy in the family also, but no girly aprons for him. I think it would get in the way of his crawling.
They have been having great fun with some wonderful learning adventures which include cooking recipes that they find to go along with the countries they are studying.
I also want to share what I have made for the women in my life, family and friends for Valentine gifts this year. This past Christmas one of my good friends gave me some home made hand lotion and I love it. No one was really sure if the recipe came from a blog or site on line so I cannot give anyone credit and I cannot take credit for how well these ingredients work together. But I am going to share it with all of you and let you know that it is really healing this time of year when our hands, arms and legs are so dry from the heat in our homes and the cold weather outside.
You start with one 13 ounce jar of Vaseline.
We have found if you warm it a little in the microwave it is easier to work with. Do not melt it, just warm it a little. I used an empty ice cream bucket to do this and mix all the other ingredients in.
You also add four 8 ounce jars of Vitamin E Skin Cream from the Dollar General store only $1.00 each.
And 1 large Johnson Baby Lotion 16-20 ounces. I like the bedtime scented baby lotion so I used one whole bottle and a little from a second bottle. The rest went to my daughter for her baby boy.
Mix well, I used my electric hand mixer, it turns really creamy.
And it makes a lot! I filled jars I bought from Hobby Lobby for my daughters, sisters, mother and mother in law. When I ran out of these jars I filled some empty, tiny jelly jars that I had on hand. I am sorry no pictures of the jelly jars they were given away last week, but I think they may be easier to get to the bottom of the jar than the others that have a smaller neck on them.
I hope you are all having a sweet Valentines Day and a great week!
Blessings from our home in the woods.
Brenda
