Afghan Number Five

Happy Friday evening!  I have been making each of my six grandchildren an crocheted afghan for their birthday this past year.  I started by making my oldest grandson one for Christmas and all the younger ones asked for one.  I have just finished number five.
A large granny square afghan.
Did not care for the center.  The afghan is a rectangular shape which made the center hole larger.
I added one of these flower motifs to each side.   It really made a difference and was a nice finishing touch.
Our granddaughters came for a visit last weekend and this swinging girlie will be the recipient of the afghan.
Older sister.

Have not lost my knack.  I raised three daughters and spent many mornings braiding hair.  It has been a while since I have tried my hand at it.   Happy Farmgirl Friday!
Enjoy your weekend and many blessings from our home in the woods!

Gorgeous afghans, Brenda. I don't know how to crochet, but just took up knitting again and am really enjoying it.

Oh, and will you come over and braid my hair? You do a fabulous job. :)

Beautiful afghans. Love the colors and your granddaughter's braided hair is so pretty. Reminds me of my granddaughter's hair. Her mom braids it too.
I still have an afghan my great aunt made and gave to me for my wedding gift nearly 48 yrs. ago. It is a treasure to me.

Great job on the afghan~ there are some happy and warm grandkids in your family, lucky too! How's the weather...is it getting cold yet? How are the girls? Have they been good layers this summer? Have a great weekend.

Hey I love the afghan. I'm glad you made one like that, I was wondering what that pattern would look like. I like it. And the flower in the center...very creative. It will be loved.

Having kids around can sure be draining!
