A Day Off

That would be a day off from wedding preparations, and I took it about a week and a half ago.  I just have not sat down here to write about anything I have been doing because I can always think of something else that needs done before I take time out.  But close to two weeks ago when the weather forecast a very hot day I decided to take a day off and go have some fun with my best friends.  We took a short trip to Shipshewana, Indiana to go to a couple of quilt and specialty food shops.  It was a nice break and then back to work for me.
My best buds!
The inside of the quilt shop from the above picture.
Great pretzels and the top reason for the driver of the group, she was out of the mustard they sell.  Actually this was a mustard run.
This is what I brought home, some fat quarters and the yardage is for a Christmas gift.
It was a fun day and I also brought home some treats for hubs, mustard, hot sauces and some very melted chocolate covered peanuts.  Like I said it was a hot day.  So sorry I have been missing in action but the daughter's wedding must come first.  Hope you are enjoying your week and staying as cool as possible.  Blessings!

I was just talking about Shipshewana with my Mom yesterday. When my Aunt comes to visit they want to go to Shipshe. I don't really want to. Well, I used to love to go there when they had the herb shop in town, and years ago when the flea market was flea market stuff and not reproduced crap made in China! Now if they'd go to a quilt shop I might just change my mind...

What a fun outing! Good for you...sometimes you just need a break! Love the orange and floral fabrics you got...what are you going to make?
I've been to Shipshewana once and loved it. Thanks for sharing!!

Sometimes we need to take a little time off to recharge the batteries. I am so glad that you have such good friends that you can go on adventures with. Keep us posted on the wedding plans and we want photos!
