Manger

My favorite Christmas decoration and usually the first I get out is the Manger.  I spent a few years collecting the figures and hubs built the Manger itself.
I picked this particular group from Italy because it is some sort of molded plastic/rubber and hand painted, because my daughters were having babies and I wanted something that would not break.  Most years the toddlers move the pieces around and it gives the adults a chance to talk about baby Jesus.  I think this was the first year they did not change how I had it set up.  It was a little disappointing for me, I did not have to hunt for the baby Jesus to return him even once.
I was all set to join up with Alphabe-Thursday over at Jenny Matlock's M party this week but she decided to take a break from the normal Alphabet link up.  Linking up anyway because I have been missing in action so long I expect everyone will think I just don't know what I am doing anymore.

Hey, M is also for Merry Christmas!  Blessings!

That manger looks so much like the one we had when I was growing up. Brings back such awesome memories. I linked up from the alphabet party. Come check out my blog if you get a chance at www.diybydesign.blogspot.com. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

My little grandsons have been visiting the manger in the living room on a regular basis - it is one of the loveliest Christmas traditions.

Isn't it funny how something that used to probably drive you crazy..."oooh what did they do with that manger?"....ends up being missed when they stop!
And you made me realize, I did not get into all of my Christmas box decorations this year, and I don't have a manger out! I might have to dig one out today. I have several.

Just because you take a blogging break, you will not be forgotten. I think of my 'blogger friends' at the oddest times and wonder what they are doing, or how they are, etc. Don't you?

Have a Wonderful Christmas!

What a beautiful manger that your hubs built! And I love the idea of a nativity set that grandbabies can hold and play with (Hm...I am definitely going to look for a set for when we have future grands :o) Thanks for this idea :o) I already have been buying fun ornaments made from a jingle bell(s) to put up on a separate tree...and will have our regular tree with our old ornaments from our families and the collectibles...but think one filled with the fun jingle bell ornaments for grandbabies to touch and play with would be great.

Blessings & Aloha!
Mele Kalikimaka!
Enjoy your family time :o)

What a perfect link for Christmas.

It is sad when the kids outgrow the 'traditions' that are so dear to our hearts, isn't it?

It sounds like your Christmas was joyous and filled with love. All of the things I would wish for you.

Your husband did a wonderful job building that manger.

I hope the rest of the year continues sweetly and that 2011 will be filled with joy and adventures and discovery for you all.
